Green Cleaning 

GREEN CERTIFIED

PJS earned the prestigious OS1™ green certified award in June 2008. This award is given to OS1™ users in recognition of outstanding achievement in custodial operations dedicated to cleaning for health while reducing environmental harm.  

The “Green Certified” award is based on the OS1™ audit that contains over 260 inspection areas that have been recognized as key practices in the cleaning industry. Successful candidate organizations must document that they are following all protocols for cleaning for health, safety and the environment. They must be actively involved in reducing waste, using green seal certified chemicals and have adopted an environmental process of cleaning management.

Green Cleaning Program

The intent of a green cleaning program is to reduce the exposure of building occupants and maintenance personnel to potentially hazardous chemical, biological, and micro particulate contaminates. PJS cleaning service standards are based on OS1 and LEED credit requirements. This comprehensive program covers all aspects of healthy, environmental "Green" cleaning and includes:

·  A green cleaning management policy.

·  Purchasing of  sustainable cleaning chemicals and equipment.

·  Established  cleaning procedures.

·  Guidelines for the safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

·  A green cleaning program / manual.

·  Cleaning effectiveness assessment / audit. 

Professional Janitorial Services offers on site workshops and seminars for Green Cleaning. These workshops are conducted by our in-house LEED-AP and are free to property management companies in Austin, Houston and San Antonio.
